Taking the GMAT test is the first step before applying for graduate level business school. Schools worldwide use the test as one ranking tool when assessing which applicants will be allowed into their programs.
Information about the GMAT
The cost to take the GMAT is $250
GMAT stands for Graduate Management Admission Test
The test is standardized so all test takers take the same difficulty of test
GMAT scores are valid for 5 years
You will have 3.5 hours to take the test
The test consists of 4 sections: Analysis of an Issue, Analysis of an Argument, Quantitative Section, Verbal Section
The 2 Analysis sections are written, the Quantitative and Verbal sections are multiple choice questions
Tips for Passing the GMAT
Begin studying 4-6 months before the exam. Consider signing up for a course. Many are offered. At least buy recommended books on the subject (including testmaterial online or on CDs).
Study as much as you possibly can
Create a regimented study plan
Work with a partner also studying for the exam
Take several practice tests along the way to gauge your performance
Use a GMAT study guide
Dont study the day before the exam you should be prepared already
Get a good night sleep before the exam
Visit the test center in advance
