Phone etiquette is important for both personal and business communication. Using proper phone etiquette can build relationships and raport with the person you are talking with.


* Speak clearly and slowly
* Do not monopolize the conversation
* Stand if possible when talking
* Talk with authority
* Be respectful of the other persons time
* Answer the phone with a positive tone
* State your name when answering the phone
* Summarize any action items at the end of the call
* Give the caller your utmost attention
