MANAGEMENT: Managing Expectations checklist
Managing peoples expectations is an effective way to let people know what will be done, but not set yourself up for failure.
* The saying "under promise, over deliver" holds true
* Be honest about what can and can not be done up front
* Set a timeline to be achieved
* Give constant updates to the interested parties
* If there is going to be a delay, let people know
* If people have unrealistic expectations, explain to them why they are unachievable
* When possible, exceed their expectations
