MANAGEMENT: MBAs checklist

1. Having an MBA from a brick and mortar school holds more weight than an online school
2. The education at a top 20 school is much more expensive. It will probably give you access to better lecuturers and it will enable you to network with other people. Check the ratings of Business Week, Financial Times and The Economist Intelligence Unit.
3. Expect to devote your life to earning the MBA degree for several years
4. Often times an MBA degree is required to be considered for high level management positions
5. An MBA degree will cost you approximately $50,000 depending on the school. Remember to include Schools worldwide in your search.
6. Most people use student loans to finance their MBA degree
7. You can pick an area of focus with your MBA, all within the business arena
8. The relationships you build with professors and classmates can be as valuable as the education itself
9. Earning an MBA after having several years of work experience will help you understand the concepts better than going immediately into an MBA program after your undergraduate
10. Teamwork is a big part of any MBA program, most assignments will be team related
11. Case studies are often used to teach MBA concepts
12. You should be comfortable with deadlines, public speaking, and deciphering complex cases when considering an MBA degree
