MARKETING: Setting a Budget checklist
Setting a marketing budget can be difficult. Use the following tips when allocating your resources.
* Determine what marketing campaigns you will do over the next year
* Get some preliminary pricing for each marketing campaign
* Determine lay out all of the marketing expenses if you did everything you wanted to
* Compare your projection to what your limitations are
* Move campaigns sooner or later if there are months when marketing expense isn't as high
* Look for ways to do as much marketing as possible give budget constraints
* Consider more online marketing as it can be cheaper
* Look to free marketing options to supplement your paid marketing
* If essential, ask for a larger budget and justify why you need it
* Look at past marketing efforts and what is successful/unsuccessful
