Finding suppliers of goods for your business is an important part of the sourcing and operational aspect of your company. Use these tips to help you find the right supplier.


* Look in the yellow pages
* Search online
* Ask other business people for recommendations
* Ask potential suppliers for quotes and any volume discounts
* Ask for a sample of their product
* Ask for references to other companies they supply for
* Give them a hypothetical situation and see how they respond (such as you need to double your order)
* Meet with the management or owner if possible not just the sales person
* Ask them what payment terms they have
* What duration does your contract with them need to be
* What provisions are available if the products are not to your satisfaction
* Are there any deposits required
