TRAVEL: Holiday Checklist checklist (printable)
This checklist lists the usually most important things that you need to check before going away for a holiday or the like: At the bottom of the page you'll see other travel checklists. Documents
- Passport! Is it still valid?
- Driver's licence / ID card
- Tickets
- Credit cards
- Currency - it beats credit cards many places, especially in the cab you take from your destination airport
- Vacinations, if needed
- Travel/Health insurance to whereever you want to go
- photocopies of documents (pack separately from originals)
- write your destination on your home address and outbound luggage labels
House
- Tell a neighbour you'll be away
- If your car is alarmed, and you leave it at home,leave spare keys with a neighbour
- Empty fridge as necessary
- Unplug electrical appliances, except freezer and fridge
- Leave spare keys/contact number with someone you trust
- Ask someone to water your plants
- Lock windows and doors
- Set timers, to make your house appear occupied
Hand luggage
- Camera
- Mobile phone
- Medication
- Replacements in case your hold luggage does not arrive at your destination
- CD/MD/MP3/DVD player and spare and fully charged batteries
- Support socks/leg exerciser for long flights
- Glasses, spare contact lenses if required
- Cash for when you arrive
- Book, magazines, newspapers
- Bottled water
- Sweets for take-off, to help stop your ears popping
General packing
- Phrasebook/guidebook
- Travel plugs/adaptors
- First-aid kit
- Toiletries
