TRAVEL: Holidays checklist
The holiday season is filled with activity and excitement. Many times it becomes so busy and stressful that it’s hard to keep up. This list will help you feel organized and ahead of the game!
• Take family pictures for holiday cards a month in advance.
• Address envelopes while watching television or at your leisure at least a month in advance so they are ready when your family pictures are in hand.
• Send cards the first week of December.
• Make lists of each party you may be expected to attend including, work parties, family dinners and friend’s mix and mingles.
• Decide ahead of time if you will give gifts or host/hostess tokens of appreciation. For a budget conscious choice, make your own caramel corn, candy, cookies or breads ahead of time.
• Have on hand a few extra bottles of wine, candies or other traditional tokens in case you need a last minute gift.
• Choose several ensembles ahead of time so when it comes time to rush home from work and change before attending an event it’s an easy task.
• Make a calendar which includes dates and times for each obligation and have it on the refrigerator door for easy access. It’s also helpful to include anything you are expected to bring.
• If there is any food for your party or one you are attending that you can prepare ahead of time and freeze, do so a week or two in advance.
• Don’t worry that your house isn’t spotless. Just make sure that the guest bathroom is clean and there is space for shoes and coats in one of the bedrooms if necessary.
