* It is the 2nd largest country by population
* It is located in South Asia
* Officially it is called the Republic of India
* India has 28 states and 7 territories
* Hindi and English are the official languages
* India is the worlds largest democracy
* It is one of the fastest growing economies in the world
* It is currently the 12th largest economy in the world
* There is a large gap between the wealthy and poor
* The official sport of India is Field Hockey
* Over 80% of the population is Hindi
